Overview
Dinotefuran is an insecticide of the neonicotinoid class developed by Mitsui Chemicals. It is used for the control of various insect pests such as aphids, whiteflies, thrips, leafhoppers, leafminers, sawflies, mole crickets, white grubs, lacebugs, billbugs, beetles, mealybugs, and cockroaches on leafy vegetables, in residential and commercial buildings, and for professional turf management.
Uses
In addition to its use in agriculture, dinotefuran is employed in veterinary medicine as a flea and tick preventive for dogs and as a flea preventive for cats. It is often used in combination with pyriproxifen and/or permethrin.

Effects on Wildlife
Dinotefuran's use has been linked to adverse effects on bees, which has led to temporary restrictions in certain regions.
Safety Measures
Proper handling and application procedures should be followed to minimize risks to human health and the environment.
Regulation
