US regulatory and health-assessment context

In October 2020, the US Environmental Protection Agency reported that its joint review with Health Canada's Pest Management Regulatory Agency found no human-health risk concerns for the proposed tetraniliprole uses. EPA nevertheless proposed use-specific ecological mitigation, including spray buffers, a vegetative filter strip and restrictions intended to reduce exposure of birds and bees.

The human-health conclusion applies to the uses, exposure assumptions and risk assessment reviewed by the authorities. It is not a general statement that tetraniliprole or every formulation is harmless. EPA label records provide subsequent registration evidence, including EPA Registration No. 264-1194 for tetraniliprole technical material and an accepted 2024 label for a tetraniliprole turf product.
